Willie D. Manning: A Master Mason

Willie D. Manning was born Nov.14, 1929 to Elroy and Dera (Grissom) Manning in Columbia County. He departed this life on May 19, 2012 in Portland, Oregon.

Mr. Manning attended and completed school in Magnolia, Arkansas. He moved to Portland, Ore., in 1959. He retired from American Ship Dismantlers in 1977. He also was a Master Mason.

He leaves to cherish his memory two sons: Willie Paul Manning and his wife Michelle; and Eddie Dean Manning and his wife Nikki; daughters: Shirley Manning, Vivian Barr and Pamela Robinson all of Portland, Ore.; and a daughter Bobbie Perry of Chandler, Arizona. Mr. Manning also leaves 19 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and two great, great grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Millage Manning; his parents; two sisters, Bertha Lee Baxter and Sally Mae Manning; a daughter Mary Ann Johnson; mother-in-law Birdie Lee Ford; and two son-in-laws Billie Barr and Wilson Perry Jr.

Services were held at Caldwell's, Hennessey, Goetsch & McGee Funeral Home.
